Biography

Masha R. Jones is a National Science Foundation Graduate Research (NSF GRFP) Fellow working toward her Ph.D. at UC Irvine’s School of Education, specializing in Learning, Cognition, and Development (LCD). She studies the executive functions of children with learning disabilities. Her approaches include enhancing executive functioning through cognitive training and understanding how differences in cognitive ability may be leveraged in support of creativity for individuals with learning disabilities.

Masha is this year's president of the Associated Doctoral Students in Education (ADSE). She holds a B.A. in linguistics from UC San Diego, where she graduated with campus and departmental honors before becoming a language teacher. Her experiences in the classroom inspire and ground her research agenda and educational interventions.
