Wei Wang is primarily interested in evaluating policies and programs that are effective in increasing academic attainment. Prior to UC Irvine, Wei worked as research assistant at Rural Education Action Program, a research group based at Stanford University and the Center for Chinese Agricultural Policy in the Chinese Academy of Sciences. As an RA at REAP, she participated in three research projects, acquiring substantive insights into experimental impact evaluation.
Now at UC Irvine, Wei’s research goal centers on how to employ appropriate approaches to explain achievement gap and how to develop and evaluate effective programs to reduce such gap. She is also interested in exploring the different roles of various education-related interventions in impacting children’s future achievement, especially the impact of students’ learning-related behavior on academic achievement.
