
Biography
Edward Chen is a Ph.D. student specializing in Learning, Teaching, Cognition, and Development (LTCD). Edward is interested in the role of working memory as it relates to students with specific learning disabilities in mathematics. He hopes to be able to devise intervention programs that will support students with different forms of dyscalculia.
Edward received his undergraduate degrees from the University of California, Irvine in both Psychology and Education Sciences with a specialization in After-School Education. His love of mathematics guided him towards becoming a research assistant where he studied early mathematics development.
On his free time, Edward volunteers at Karate for All, an occupational therapy program where he teaches martial arts to children and adolescents with autism, ADHD, and other developmental disorders.
