Kids Smile Project

Investigator: Stephanie Reich

Funding: Society for Community Research and Action (SCRA)

Project Objectives

The Kids Smile Project is a SCRA-funded study aimed at identifying the barriers to and facilitators of receiving dental care for children in Head Start.

In partnership with academics, early childhood educators, dental experts, and caregivers, this project seeks to better understand important contributors to pediatric dental care and design and test a low-cost intervention that will help children who are without dental care and at risk for severe health problems, such as tooth decay, delayed language development and infections of the blood and/or bone.
