Project Objectives

This grant builds upon the research conducted during the 2011-2012 academic year. Year 2 is focusing on assessment of student learning in the undergraduate Minor in Educational Studies with the following objectives:

  1. identifying the core courses most appropriate for embedded assessments of specific learning outcomes;
  2. pilot testing a common writing rubric across courses;
  3. developing an embedded assessment for ED 50;
  4. analyzing student work from ED 50 and writing samples from multiple courses; and
  5. holding a year-end retreat to discuss findings, propose revisions to assessment instruments, and identify strategies for sustainability.
