Sean Beall - adaptable, loyal, and kind - is a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) candidate pursuing his single subject social science credential.
Beall received a School of Education Dean's Scholarship at the School of Education's 2019-2020 Scholarship Awards Ceremony on November 1.
Dean's scholarship recipients are selected for their academic achievement and commitment to developing their skills and knowledge as new teachers.
"Though I have always loved history as a subject," Beall said, "my choice of going into teaching was not for the love of the subject. I decided to become an educator as it is a crucial space to help create equity in society. Secondary education is a time where people find their place in the world or feel they are excluded by it. I hope to impact those that would normally be excluded find their place and worth. This award will greatly help me pursue this goal through transportation, tuition, and professional development."
