Doctoral student Maria Sauval has been awarded a 2020 Miguel Velez Scholarship.
Miguel Velez scholarships are awarded to students with outstanding academic performance and who are residents or citizens of a Latin American country. The scholarship provides resident fees and a stipend of $6,000 for spring quarter of the year of the award.
Sauval, who is a first-year doctoral student pursuing a specialization in Educational Policy and Social Context (EPSC), is a citizen of Uruguay. Her research interests include the social organization of early childhood care and education, and program evaluation to inform social policies, particularly in Latin American countries.
