MAT Program Responds to COVID-19 Pandemic
In March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic caused the unprecedented transition to remote instruction for K-12 schools across the nation. In fall 2020, K-12 schools began operating on a variety of schedules, ranging from in-person, to fully remote, to hybrid models.
Through the uncertainty, the UCI School of Education supported its MAT students by securing and maintaining student teaching positions and providing all necessary resources and instruction for students to complete the program and begin their teaching career. In July 2020, all students in the 2019-20 MAT cohort graduated on time, receiving both their master's degree and teaching credential.
Regardless of the evolving circumstances and impacts that COVID-19 has on the K-12 community, the UCI School of Education is committed to supporting its students and local schools.
