Nia Nixon, associate professor in the School of Education, has received a Vision Grant from the Spencer Foundation for a new collaborative project exploring how artificial intelligence is reshaping learning together.
Led by Nixon (PI) in collaboration with Laura Allen of the University of Minnesota and graduate student Jaeyoon Choi, Learning Together in the Age of AI: Opportunities for Inclusion and Challenges of Fairness examines how AI-mediated tools influence collaboration, perspective-taking, and equity in educational settings. By bringing together scholars in learning sciences, social psychology, and AI in education, the project asks how AI can move beyond efficiency and personalization to actively support inclusion, surface diverse viewpoints, and foster fair, collaborative learning environments. |
