The UC Irvine School of Education is proud to recognize Gustavo Carlo, who has been named a Highly Ranked Scholar™ in the ScholarGPS 2025 global rankings. This distinction places Professor Carlo in the top 0.05 percent of scholars worldwide, reflecting the exceptional impact, quality, and sustained influence of his research across his career.
Professor Carlo earned top global rankings across multiple areas of scholarship. For lifetime achievement, he is ranked No. 2 worldwide in Prosocial Behavior and No. 59 in Adolescence. Based on research output over the past five years, he is also ranked No. 2 globally in Latino studies, underscoring both the depth of his work and its continued momentum. These rankings highlight Professor Carlo’s leadership in advancing understanding of youth development, culture, and social behavior at both national and international levels.
