Service Awards Honors 11 School of Education Staff

Over the summer, UC Irvine held the annual Service Awards, which celebrates longterm staff. Honorees are active employees who reached a milestone during last fiscal year and held a staff appointment at the time of the June 17 event. This year the School of Education had 11 staff recognized for their dedication. Below are highlights of six that were recognized at the event.

Julie Hahm
​25 Years of Service

"My favorite thing about working at UC Irvine is being part of such a supportive and collaborative business team. Over the years, I’ve built lifetime friendships while making a difference to UCI, and I truly value how we look out for one another to make work life smoother and more enjoyable. I also love that my role continually challenges me to think creatively and find new ways to better serve our faculty and staff. Above all, I deeply appreciate the flexibility, freedom, and trust we’re given to do our work. That kind of guidance not only empowers me but also strengthens the teamwork and trust that make UCI such a special place to work."

Claudia Campos
​10 Years of Service

"My favorite thing about working at UCI is the sense of community. Many UC Irvine staff were former students or even classmates of mine, and it’s been really special to stay connected through our academic and professional journeys. Over the years, these connections have grown into lasting friendships. I’m not sure another workplace could provide that kind of bond!"

"My favorite thing about working at UC Irvine is the people. I feel so fortunate to collaborate with amazing colleagues who are deeply committed to student success and to help students discover their potential as they grow into confident leaders and professionals. Through the SAGE Scholars Program, I build meaningful connections with students, alumni, and community partners - and it’s incredibly rewarding to see the impact of those relationships. Being part of a community that values connection, innovation, and impact inspires me every day."

"I feel like UC Irvine really strives to be a nice, safe, welcoming, inclusive campus for faculty staff and students. I have worked at many other companies where it didn’t feel like they cared very much about their staff’s feelings or outlooks. UC Irvine is always striving to improve, learn and grow."

"I've worked two and a half years at UC Irvine, and I've been with the UC system six years. My favorite thing about working at UCI is getting to go to FitSquad yoga on campus with my co-workers to take a break from work."

Ella Rose
​3 Years of Service

"I did my undergrad at UC Irvine, briefly worked as a student employee for Dr. Hosun Kang right after graduating, then became a full time employee in Dr. Lindsey Richland's lab for three years. I am now entering my first year as a Ph.D. in Education student. 

I love the collaborative community at UC Irvine. The faculty in the School of Education are very welcoming and open, and it has been a pleasure getting to work with multiple faculty members across projects and learn from their expertise."
