On February 26, Stacy Yung presented to the UCI Supervisor Professional Learning Community (PLC) on the use of educational technology tools in teaching, sparking conversation around how these tools can be thoughtfully integrated into teacher preparation.
The Supervisor PLC brings together MAT and CalTeach supervisors for ongoing professional development and discussion of shared challenges in the field. Facilitated by Christian Miraglia, Social Science Supervisor, the group creates space for supervisors to exchange ideas, reflect on practice, and learn from one another. |
Yung’s session focused on how emerging EdTech tools can support instruction and enhance student learning, offering practical insights that supervisors can bring into their work with teacher candidates.
The PLC itself was developed by Evelyn Young through her work with supervisors and directors across the UC system as part of the CTERIN grant. The goal: to professionalize the role of the supervisor while building a stronger sense of collaboration and community across programs.
