Celebrating MAT Alum and IUSD Teacher of the Year Devon Zangger

We are proud to celebrate UC Irvine School of Education MAT alum Devon Zangger (‘17), a 4th-grade teacher at Solis Park School, who has been named Elementary School Teacher of the Year by the Irvine Unified School District. Devon exemplifies what it means to lead with heart, excellence, and purpose, creating classrooms where every student feels valued and inspired. Through innovative strategies, she builds strong thinking skills, confidence, and joy in learning. 

Beyond her classroom, her leadership extends across her school and district as an Induction and math mentor, a member of the math adoption committee, and a presenter at Parent Outreach Workshops. She has also served as a mentor teacher for UCI MAT candidates. Her recognition as Teacher of the Year celebrates her impact and reflects the strength of the UCI MAT program in preparing educators who transform schools and communities.
