UC Irvine School of Education co-sponsors AI K12 Deeper Learning Summit March 1-2, 2024 in Anaheim

The Anaheim Union High School District (AUHSD), The AI Education Project (aiEDU), Digital Promise, and the University of California, Irvine School of Education are excited to announce the AI K12 Deeper Learning Summit. This event takes place March 1-2, 2024, at the Westin Hotel in Anaheim. The AI K12 Deeper Learning Summit is dedicated to equipping educational leaders, administrators, and teachers with in-depth insights and strategies from AI educational innovators and thinkers. It will spotlight interactive workshops tailored to enhance educators' AI comprehension, showcasing optimal methods for infusing AI into both instruction and assessment practices. “As we navigate a pivotal moment in educational history, accessible advanced AI tools are transforming the learning landscape,” said Michael Matsuda, AUHSD superintendent. "Our commitment is to transition our students from being mere consumers to becoming innovative creators, proficient in leveraging AI for their future endeavors." |
The summit is a convergence of a diverse ensemble of educational and innovative leaders, AI specialists, and business figures. Participants, mainly K12 educators, will delve into AI’s potential to bolster student engagement, learning, and the realization of their interests and professional objectives.
Aligned with a nationwide consensus, the summit stands as a response to the felt need for a more AI-integrated curriculum in the United States K-12 educational system and improved policies and strategies for handling AI in K12 schools. The summit will also cover critical discussions on AI career pathways and the ethical dimensions intertwined with AI advancements.

The ethical dilemmas presented by AI and the opportunities for societal problem solving will take center stage, fostering a focused dialogue on the power of AI to transform society.
