Two educators with ties to the School of Education's Master of Arts in Teaching + Credential (MAT) Program have been honored by the Irvine Unified School District (IUSD).
MAT methods instructor for social science, Jon Resendez, was announced as an IUSD Teacher of the Year. Resendez teaches at Portola High School and is involved in mentoring his colleagues in the social sciences. He also places his efforts towards student advocacy and leads the Sacramento student trip, where IUSD students meet with California legislators to share their perspective on educational policy.
