Biography
Evelyn Young is a lecturer and a supervisor of student teachers in the Master of Arts in Teaching program at UCI. Her teaching and research interests focus on critical race theory, multicultural education, diversity and equity, and education policy. She has previously worked as a public school elementary teacher in Lawndale, CA and St. Louis, MO. She has also worked in private and international schools as a curriculum coordinator and the Director of Academic Affairs. Her teaching excellence has earned her the District Teacher of the Year Award at Ritenour School District in St. Louis, Missouri as well as the Donald J. White Teaching Award at Boston College.
