New Grant to Study Virtual Learning Environments
Professor and Interim Dean Mark Warschauer has received a $2.5 million grant from NSF: "Investigating Virtual Learning Environments". His research team will be studying 50 flipped, hybrid, and online courses to compare student's attitudes toward STEM study, learning outcomes, and success and persistence in future STEM courses.

SoE Funded Research Tops $40 Million
SoE research grants have reached $40,000,000, ranking UCI's School of Education in the 100th percentile (top-ranked in the U.S.) of grant dollars per faculty member. SoE also is the highest-ranking when compared to other institutions in articles published, citations, and grant dollars per faculty member. Current Research

BA in Education Sciences Attracting Record Number of Undergraduates
Entering its second year, the UCI BA in Education Sciences is attracting a record number of students seeking to major in the discipline. This fall 550 undergraduates have declared a major in BAES, including 75 incoming freshmen and 25 transfer students. In its first year (2014), the program graduated 123 students who were able to complete course requirements in their senior year. BAES Information
