Biography
Patricia is a Chilean mathematics teacher who earned a Bachelor in Education and a Mathematics Teaching degree from Universidad de Concepcion, Chile. In 2019 she received a Master's degree in Didactics of Mathematics from the same institution.
She taught mathematics in Middle school, High school and in technical-professional programs. She then worked as a Teacher Educator at the Faculty of Education of the Universidad de Concepcion, Chile, for three years. There she was in charge of the practices for the Math Teaching Program and was involved in research projects. One of them was focused on the implementation of a mathematical skills development and mathematical learning management model with primary prospective teachers. These experiences led her to want to pursue the Ph.D. program in the TLEI area, with specialization in Teacher Learning and Professional Development.
Her research interests are Mathematics Teacher Education, with special attention to Mathematics Teacher Noticing and the use of video for Professional Learning. She is also interested in Mathematics Education, in particular in the Teaching and learning of numbers and operations.
