Biography

​Joong won Lee (Will Lee) is a doctoral student in the School of Education at University of California, Irvine. He is interested in sociolinguistic factors that affect adolescent students of English learning as a foreign language, and wants to delve into studies on what can be done to scaffold their English learning from an external perspective.

Joong won obtained his Bachelor in Arts at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (Seoul, Korea) and at the University of Delaware, having majored English Literature. Then, he obtained his Master of Education in Language and Literacy at Harvard Graduate School of Education. After finishing his master's program at Harvard, he taught in two Korean private institutions that teach English reading and writing to adolescent students in Korea. He also tutored many students on English reading, writing, and speaking.

Currently Joong won is working on various projects on instructional factors that can scaffold diverse students' language and literacy skills.
