Biography
Yiwen is a first-year Ph.D. student in the School of Education with a concentration on Teaching, Learning, and Educational Improvement (TLEI). Her research interests include educational technologies, collaborative interactions and learning at scale. Specifically, she is interested in applying and developing of quantitative methodologies to examine the social and cognitive aspects in online learning. Her research also explore the role of gender, race and culture in learner behavior and outcome. She works with Dr. Nia Dowell at UCI.
Previously, Yiwen worked as a research assistant at the School of Information at the University of Michigan, where she graduated with her bachelor degrees in Psychology and International Studies. In the other world, Yiwen is an avid traveller and a passionate photographer who observes the world from an eccentric viewpoint.
