
Biography
Mariela Rivas received her B.A. and M.A. in Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles. Her research interests include learning and memory and how the principles of cognitive science can be applied to instruction. Past research projects include applying questioning through the use of clickers as an instructional practice in a college class, enhancing learning through video lectures, and improving learning of educational categories through examples.
Mariela hopes to use her background in psychology to inform her research on learning and instruction in online and traditional courses in higher education.
