Biography
Kasim Yildirim is a visiting scholar to the Language, Literacy, and Learning (L3) Lab. He is an associate professor in the Department of Elementary School Classroom Teaching at Mugla Sitki Kocman University in Turkey. His research area includes Turkish language arts, particularly reading fluency of elementary school students.
Dr. Yildirim participates in ongoing international collaborations on reading research and publishes in different national and international journals about literacy education. He has authored articles and books about literacy education of elementary school students and has presented numerous papers related to literacy education at different national and international conferences.
Dr. Yildirim earned his Ph.D. in elementary school classroom teaching from Gazi University in Turkey. Previously, he was a Ph.D. and postdoctoral researcher at Kent State University.
