School of Education Ranks Number 10!
The School of Education Ranks Number 4 Among Public Schools of Education.
U.S. News & World Report released its rankings and has named the UCI School of Education Number 10 among graduate schools of education in the nation and number four among public schools of education.
The steady rise toward becoming a top 10 School of Education in the nation has been ten years in the making. This status is a reflection of the strong dedication to rigorous research, teaching and service to the broader Orange County region and entire state. The School is home to the OCEAN network and eight research centers that span the P-20 education continuum and address a number of key educational issues, including: digital access and online learning, motivation, early childhood, STEM education, policy, cultural resiliency, linguistic diversity, writing and teacher development to name a few.
According to Dean Frances Contreras, “The UCI School of Education is emerging as a leader among schools largely due to the talent and energy of our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and critical partnerships. This is a pivotal moment and achievement for the School of Education. We are the youngest school in the top 10 and are just getting started on our path to fully realizing our potential to transform academies, inform practice, and address inequities.”
The School of Education is also home to the Center for Educational Partnerships which connects UCI to K12 schools and community colleges throughout the region through data driven projects and services, and has a wide array of research collaborations. “The School of Education is a prime example of excellence in scholarship that has been accomplished during an era when the school has become increasingly diverse and engaged to meet the needs of the region and state," Contreras said.
