As 2022 comes to an end, the UCI School of Education looks back on an exciting and eventful year. Here are some of the year’s highlights.

School of Education ranks in the top 10 both nationally and globally
Most recently, this fall, the School reached the top 8 in the world among education and education research schools. Earlier in the year, the School was announced as No. 10 graduate school of education and No. 4 among public schools in the nation.

Celebrating 10-year anniversary
A decade ago, on July 18, 2012, the School of Education (formerly the Department of Education) became a school at UCI. The start of the 2022-23 academic year marks the commencement of the School’s 10-year celebration.

Frances Contreras becomes UCI School of Education dean

Professors earn top rankings in their fields
From most influential to prolific author to leading researcher, several School of Education professors received high accolades in their field by ranking as the top among their peers. To name a few: Professor Richard Arum, Professor Gustavo Carlo, Distinguished Professor Greg Duncan, Distinguished Professor Jacquelynne Eccles, and Senior Associate Dean and Professor Young-Suk Kim.
