Two School of Education Ph.D. candidates awarded NSF fellowships
April 6, 2023 — UCI School of Education Ph.D. candidates Daniel Robert Ritchie and Julie Salazar were awarded National Science Foundation (NSF) fellowships through the Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) for STEM education and learning research.
Ritchie's research focuses include ways in which technology and education can complement and improve each other. Salazar's research focuses include STEM learning within Latinx communities and interventions that can support informal STEM learning.
The GRFP purpose is "to ensure the quality, vitality, and diversity of the scientific and engineering workforce of the United States. GRFP seeks to broaden participation in science and engineering of underrepresented groups, including women, minorities, persons with disabilities, and veterans," according to the GRFP website.
