AERA 2018 Annual Meeting: “The Dreams, Possibilities, and Necessity of Public Education”
April 13-17, 2018 New York Title: "Academic and Behavioral Factors Related to High School Graduation" Authors: Ashley Nicole Harlow, George Farkas Abstract This study looks at what behavioral and academic factors matter in high school graduation for Hispanic students. This study looks at both Hispanic students when compared to Whites and comparing Hispanic subgroups with Mexican Americans as their respective omitted groups. The relationship between GPA and high school graduation is the strongest for both Hispanic students when compared with Whites and with the Hispanic subgroup models. This suggests that GPA may be a mediator to high school graduation despite other academic and behavioral factors taken into consideration. Comments are closed.
