The Center for Research on Teacher Preparation and Professional Practice is hosting a presentation on the use of video capture for research.
Date: Thursday, April 12, 2018 Time: 12:00-1:00 pm Location: Education 3216 Associate Dean Elizabeth van Es, Postdoctoral Scholar Elizabeth Mendoza, and PhD student Priyanka Agarwal will share their experiences with various methods of video set up and the equipment they have used to collect data. Their discussion will highlight affordances and limitations of different capture tools, including kinds of cameras and microphones, and of equipment placement. Segments of video data will provide examples. The Education Center for Research on Teacher Development and Professional Practice in the School of Education at the University of California, Irvine fosters collaborations among faculty, students, and practitioners on projects focused on a variety of aspects of teacher development and learning and on the study of teaching and teacher professional practice.
