Danielle Berton is a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) candidate pursuing her multiple subject teaching credential.
Berton received a School of Education Dean's Scholarship at the School of Education's 2019-2020 Scholarship Awards Ceremony on November 1.
Dean's scholarship recipients are selected for their academic achievement and commitment to developing their skills and knowledge as new teachers.
"I decided to choose a career in teaching because I am passionate about serving others and connecting with people," Berton said. "I am always excited to learn more about the word, and I am hope to foster this enthusiasm in my future students. I am currently student teaching in a 5th grade classroom at a Title I school. I hope to continue to teach in underserved communities and inspire my students to challenge themselves and follow their passions."
