The Nautilus Live expedition season began May 10th and continues to October 17th. This is a wonderful opportunity for STEM students and teachers.
Dr. Robert Ballard is known for the discovery of hydrothermal vents, ocean mapping and marine archeological expeditions, such as the Titanic. He and his organization, Ocean Exploration Trust, continue to explore and invite K-12 classrooms to explore online and/or independently. The research vessel, Nautilus, will begin the expedition season in May and continue until October. Susan Groff, Middle College High School Science Teacher in the Santa Ana Unified School District, will be serving as a Science Communication Fellow from May 24th until June 9th exploring hydrothermal vents with NASA SUBSEA scientists. Ocean Exploration Trust provides STEM/STEAM lessons aligned to NGSS and additional topics. Individuals may follow the expedition 24/7 online. You may request a live ship to shore interaction.
