Master's student awarded Promising Master of Arts in Teaching award

Anadelle Ramirez is a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) candidate pursuing her multiple subject teaching credential.

Ramirez received a Promising Master of Arts in Teaching award at the School of Education's 2019-2020 Scholarship Awards Ceremony on November 1.

Promising Master of Arts in Teaching awards, provided through a Hispanic Serving Institution grant from the U.S. Department of Education, support students who demonstrate the potential to become inspirational teachers.

"I have been an instructional assistant for the past three years at a special education adult transition school," Ramirez said. "I have also worked as an adult education ESL instructor. Although I loved these experiences, I feel the I can make the greatest impact as an educator with younger students in K-8. My goal is to work in a Two-Way-Immersion program upon graduating to further educational equity in my community. This scholarship freeing up valuable time for me as a working single mother and full time student."
