Patricia Anderson, Assistant Director of UCI's Center for Educational Partnerships (CFEP), is the 2019 Service Project Lead for the Western Association of College & University Business Officers (WACUBO). WACUBO is one of four regional associations (Central, Eastern, Southern, Western), comprising the National Association of College & University Business Officers (NACUBO). Since 1937, WACUBO has offered professional development, informational resources, and networking opportunities to members. Each year, WACUBO selects a community service project designed to support elementary schools in the city where the WACUBO international conference is being held. For the 2019 WACUBO conference in Vancouver, Simon Fraser University, as a part of the conference organizing committee, and WACUBO teamed up with a Vancouver-based non-profit YNOTFORTOTS to identify four Vancouver area schools - Lord Selkirk Elementary School, Captain James Cook Elementary School, Lord Roberts Elementary School, and Xpey' Elementary School (Vancouver's only indigenous-focused school) - to provide educational, sensory, and occupational supplies and support through donations by WACUBO attendees. Anderson is pleased to report, "Over 200 T-shirts were donated by 40+ WACUBO members, and $10,000 was raised for supplies for the four designated schools." Lindsay Richter, second co-founder of YNOTFORTOTS, expressed her appreciation, adding: "This $10,000 contribution made by the 750 delegates attending the conference will make a sizable impact for our schools."
