UCI School of Education among top global programs for educational psychology
The School's educational psychology program was ranked No. 14 due its institutional and individual productivity in educational psychology journals.

October 31, 2022 The University of California, Irvine School of Education has been named No. 14 among educational psychology programs from 2015 through 2021. In a recent study that looks at the prior work of institutional and individual productivity in educational psychology journals, the School was among the top global programs in the area. The distinction marks the first time the School has made it into the rankings, alongside Stanford University, the University of Tübingen (Germany), and Australian Catholic University (Australia). |
Faculty and doctoral students from the School were also recognized in the study. Young-Suk Kim, associate dean and professor, was named as one of the “top producing scholars in educational psychology journals.” Teomara Rutherford, who earned her Ph.D from the School in 2014 and now an associate professor with tenure at the University of Delaware School of Education, was named a “top producing early career scholar in educational psychology journals” as well.
The productivity by the faculty and student scholars have come with great results, with them leading the way in having the School earn a top-10 ranking for graduate schools of education in the nation, and a top-8 school for education and educational research in the world, as reported by U.S. News & World Report.
