Associate Professor June Ahn comes to UCI from his previous position as Associate Professor of Learning Sciences and Technology at New York University.
His research focuses on designing and understanding sociotechnical systems—how social, cultural, and institutional factors intersect with the affordances of new technologies to create equitable learning opportunities for diverse learners. His experience includes developing research-practice partnerships with diverse communities, including urban and rural school districts, museums, libraries, and local neighborhoods. Ahn holds a PhD in Urban Education Policy from the University of Southern California, a MA in Computing and Education from Columbia University, and an AB from Brown University in Computers in education.
