BNU-UCI Forum on Higher Education Leadership and Management

Faculty and doctoral students from Beijing Normal University who attended the Second Annual BNU-UCI Doctoral Student Forum in Higher Education Leadership and Management presented their research during the November 9 Forum on Higher Education Leadership and Management at UCI's School of Education.  

Presentations were grouped according to topics, with each group mentored by a dedicated School of Education professor.  

Group 1: Educational Leadership and Management

• He Fang - Transformation of University Governance Through Internationalization: Challenges for Universities and Government Policies in China
• Lu Di - Faculty Internationalization Participation of Local Undergraduate University
• Wang Jiali - A Study of the Institutional Environment for the Development of Graduate Education in Private Universities in China

Group 2: Student Development and Education, mentored by Dr. Liane Brouillette

• Li Wanjun - Internet-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Depressive Symptoms of Chinese University Students
• Zhang Jing - The Effect of Self Expression on the Quality of College Students' Romantic Relationships
• Yu Qingyun - Effects of Childhood Abuse on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Depression in College Students

Group 3: Student Development and Education, mentored by Dr. Judith Sandholtz

• Cao Fei - Research on the Role Conflict of College Counselors
• Gao Minli - Comparative Study of Career Development of Rural and Urban Students
• Li Xiaoqion - The Influence of Interpersonal Relationships on Undergraduate Students' Social-Emotional Competence

Prior to the Friday Forum, the scholars met with educators and administrators at UC Irvine; Cal State University, Fullerton; Chapman University; and Compton College and visited various units on the UCI campus. Throughout their visit, the BNU guests were hosted and mentored by Professors Brouillette, and Sandholtz. 

The 2018 BNU-UCI Exchange was coordinated by Dr. Yao Yun (BNU), Dean Richard Arum, Assistant Professor Di Xu, and Darlene Boyd from the Center for Educational Partnerships.
