PhD student Veronica Newhart has been selected by the Center for Innovative Research in Cyberlearning (CIRCL) to participate in an in-person working group on instrumented spaces at the Center. CIRCL is led by the Stanford Research Institute (SRI) International. Ms. Newhart was selected from a competitive national pool of scholars who had submitted proposals specifically for participation in this working group.
Ms. Newhart will be functioning as a contributing expert on laying out CIRCL's future research agenda in the instrumented spaces genre of cyber learning. Her group will be tasked with producing a report detailing current research in the genre and proposing next steps for the field. Ms. Newhart is a 5th year Ph.D. in Education student specializing in Language, Literacy, and Technology (LLT). Her research interests include virtual inclusion, telepresence, emerging technologies to facilitate teaching & learning, online/distance learning, social context of learning, motivation, and student health & academic achievement.
