"The Process of Learning'

2/20/2019

At the Working Memory and Plasticity Lab meeting on Friday, February 22, PhD student Shafee Mohammed will be discussing his proposed research project to study the process of learning in different contexts.

Description

Did you ever wonder why things change with time? If you haven't yet, you will... with time. It's a "Process"! Many processes that change with time are measurable. Often these measured changes are attributed to intrinsic or extrinsic factors that are specific to the process. At an individual level, the measured changes in a process are referred to as "Intraindividual variances." For a future project, I will look into the process of learning (in different contexts) to predict the performances of each individual at any given point of time. I intend to include a range of predictors that may capture the variability within each individual. This may allow us to measure the process of learning at the individual level and the group level. I am seeking some feedback and ideas to improve the way I set-up the problem and the way I can measure the range of variability of each individual. I welcome your intuitions, ideas, and mathematical prowess.
