Dr. Rachel Stumpf is joining Santa Clara University as the newly appointed Faculty Development Program Manager.
In this position, Stumpf will be administering programs, events, activities, digital and other resources, communications, and budget for Faculty Development. Her work will be rooted in "SCU’s Teaching Scholar Model, the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), faculty professional development activity, and the current contexts of higher education." Her responsibilities also will include representing the program on collaborative projects with a range of faculty and staff in other units engaged in faculty development activities (including the Collaborative for Teaching Innovation, Core Curriculum & Undergraduate Studies, ITRS, Office of Assessment, Research and Faculty Affairs, Sponsored Projects, Office of Multicultural Learning, Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and the Ignatian Center for Jesuit Education). Stumpf received her UCI Ph.D. in Education with a specialization in Language, Literacy, and Technology (LLT) in 2018. Her dissertation research explored writing across high school and college contexts. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English and Elementary Education, along with a Middle School Endorsement, from the University of Mary in North Dakota. Upon graduation, she taught high school English in North Dakota for three years before entering the UCI School of Education doctoral program. Comments are closed.
