Karen Taylor has accepted a postdoctoral position at Stanford University Graduate School of Education to work with Associate Professor Rebecca Silverman on a grant from Stanford studying upper elementary school writing and technology, as well as a pilot of the CLAVES curriculum in Bay Area public schools, and additional research projects looking at teacher implementation of a literacy intervention.
Karen's specialization at UCI is Language, Literacy, and Technology (LLT). Her research has focused on elementary and middle school writing, reasoning, and academic language. Karen began her doctoral studies at UCI advised by Joshua Lawrence, who is now an Associate Professor at University of Oslo. During Fall 2018, Karen was a visiting graduate student researcher with Professor Catherine Snow at Harvard Graduate School of Education. Karen's advisor is Chancellor's Professor Carol Connor.
