PhD student Taffeta Wood has been awarded an appointment as a 2019 Pedagogical Fellow.
“Most commonly known for their facilitation of the TA Professional Development Program, Fellows are competitively selected based on teaching evaluations, scholarship, service, letters of recommendation, and demonstrated interest in pedagogy. Throughout this year, they will be trained in advanced pedagogy in higher education, educational development, and academic job market preparation. The Pedagogical Fellows serve as teaching ambassadors to their departments and mentors to Teaching Assistants” (Michael Dennin, Vice Provost, Teaching & Learning and Dean, Division of Undergraduate Education). Taffeta is a third year PhD in Education student specializing in Language, Literacy, and Technology (LLT). Her research interests include second language literacy in immigrant and refugee populations, teacher beliefs and attitudes, student outcomes, and teacher professional development She is advised by Chancellor's Professor Carol Connor.
