School of Education becomes first California branch of global network Bilingualism Matters

Education professors in Top 200 for 2023 Edu-Scholar Public Influence Rankings
In January, Professors Richard Arum, Drew Bailey and Greg Duncan ranked in the top 200 in the nation, according to the 2023 Rick Hess Straight Up (RHSU) Edu-Scholar Public Influence Rankings. $1.1M Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative grant seeks to encourage student agency and purpose
The Orange County Educational Advancement Network, founded by Professor June Ahn, will aim to measure the impacts of AUHSD’s programs and suggest improvements, while shedding light on key factors that will help other local schools and organizations implement similar programs. Learn more |

The May event celebrated the School’s rise to its top ranks and decade-plus impact on education across the region and state through its excellence in research, teaching, and community engagement. School has strong representation at AERA 2023
School of Education researchers, faculty and students had a strong representation with more than 65 presentations for the American Educational Research Association (AERA) in-person annual meeting in April. This year's theme, "Interrogating Consequential Education Research in Pursuit of Truth," provided a meaningful platform to discuss research that improves and shapes the future of education. Groundbreaking initiative to create first statewide family engagement center
In collaboration with PIQE and the California Department of Education, Dean Frances Contreras serves as the principal investigator tasked with conducting an external evaluation of the center's work. The five-year $5 million grant is funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Learn more |
Center for Educational Partnerships
collaborates with multimedia company OC World The new partnership will provide internships to UCI students interested in pursuing careers in media and communications. Students will have the opportunity to participate in various types of productions, reaching an audience of more than 15 million. Learn more |
New Choosing a Major conference invites students to explore healthcare careers and majors
A collaboration between the Center for Educational Partnership's Early Academic Outreach Program and the K-16 Career Pathways Program, the event empowered high school students to explore healthcare roles, programs, degrees and careers through UCI’s Susan & Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences. Alumna recognized at Lauds & Laurels ceremony
In October, Carolyn Brothers '78, '80 received the Distinguished Alumni Award. In 2022, Brothers established the Carolyn Irene Brothers Psychology and Special Education Teacher Scholarship Endowment, the first undergraduate scholarship endowment in the School. Learn more |
